• UpToDate Expert AI is a generative AI tool available within the UpToDate platform. It is designed to help users explore complex clinical questions by providing explanations, assumptions, and supporting evidence drawn solely from UpToDate’s evidence-based clinical content, developed by 7,600 expert clinicians.

Who has access to UpToDate Expert AI?

• All registered UpToDate users at Mount Sinai can access UpToDate Expert AI as part of the Library's UpToDate subscription. Users must be signed in with their Mount Sinai email address to use the feature.

How do I access UpToDate Expert AI?

• After signing in to UpToDate (web or mobile app), select the Expert AI prompt located next to the standard UpToDate search box.

Does using UpToDate Expert AI count toward CME or continuing education credits?

• Not at this time. Searches performed within UpToDate AI Expert do not currently count toward CME or continuing education credit accrual.

What should I do to earn CME or continuing education credits in the meantime?

• To continue accruing CME or continuing education credits, users should perform searches using the main UpToDate search interface, not the Expert AI tool.

Will UpToDate Expert AI change how UpToDate works?

• No. UpToDate Expert AI is a separate, optional search experience. All existing UpToDate functionality remains unchanged.
