Each summer, the Levy Library reviews journal subscription renewals and discusses open access and “read and publish” pricing models with publishers. Where agreements allow open access publishing with an investment close to our annual subscription costs, we move forward. Agreements with the larger publishers would require significantly higher budget investment from Mount Sinai than is currently allocated for subscriptions and a longer lead time for negotiations.
